Hedstrom Posts Hat Trick to Lead Ducks Past LA
Jonathan Hedstrom‘s hat trick helped pace the Anaheim Mighty Ducks past the Los Angeles Kings, 6-2, at the Pond.
Ryan Getzlaf, Andy McDonald and Chris Kunitz also scored while Joffrey Lupul registered three assists for Anaheim, which snapped a modest two-game losing streak. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 41 saves in the win.
This was Anaheim‘s first game without Petr Sykora, who was shipped to the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Maxim Kondratiev. Sykora was struggling this season, checking in with only seven goals and 13 assists.
Craig Conroy and Lubomir Visnovsky both scored for the Kings, who have dropped two in a row since winning three straight. Mathieu Garon made just 21 saves on 27 opportunities.
