A poll offers warning signs for Republicans in November’s elections. The AP-Ipsos poll finds Americans lean heavily toward giving Democrats control of Congress. Democrats are favored 49 percent to 36 percent. About a-third of the respondents approve of the job Congress is doing. Nearly twice as many disapprove. One Los Angeles voter says lawmakers “get away with murder.”

In November, 33 Senate seats will be on the ballot — about half from each party. For a majority, Democrats would need to gain six or seven seats, depending on what happens with a seat held by an Independent. All 435 House seats are up for a vote. Democrats would need to grab an extra 15 seats to take control.
