Landslide Buries Indonesia Village
At least 200 people are feared dead from an early Wednesday landslide in central Indonesia. Officials say it buried a village as many people were sleeping or doing early prayers. Over 100 homes were reportedly destroyed by tons of mud and rocks. A local police officer says so far, only one body has been found — and 12 people rescued. But it’s feared the rest of the people in the village were killed.
On Monday, flooding and landslides tore into several villages in the same region, killing at least 57 people. Search and rescue efforts there are still going on.
