Six Sentenced in Kuwait on Terrorism Charges
Six men have been convicted and sentenced to death on charges they belonged to a terrorist group plotting to attack U-S troops in Kuwait.
The men are among 37 people accused of joining the terrorist group Lions of the Peninsula, which prosecutors say was planning attacks.
Kuwaiti authorities broke up the cell in January in clashes that left eight suspected terrorists and four policemen dead.
Twenty-three alleged members of the cell are already serving prison terms.
Kuwait was a launching pad for the U-S- led invasion of Iraq and remains a logistics base for the international coalition.
