Commuter train in Chicago crashes
A commuter train crashed into five vehicles at a rail crossing near Chicago on Wednesday, triggering a chain reaction collision that injured 16 people, officials said.
Three of those injured in vehicles mangled by the speeding express train suffered critical injuries and 10 others caught in the crossing were less severely hurt, said Judy Pardonnet, spokeswoman the Chicago area commuter rail agency, METRA.
Three people suffered minor injuries on the train, which usually carries between 400 and 500 passengers.
