US Bans British Columbia Poultry
The U.S. has banned poultry from mainland British Columbia. The Agriculture Department says it took the action Friday.
A spokesman says the department is awaiting more information from Canada.
Authorities in British Columbia say a duck at a poultry farm there tested positive for avian flu virus, but officials say it’s not the form circulating in Southeast Asia that’s been blamed for more than 60 deaths.
