German Drinking Water Poisoning Probe
Police in southern Germany are investigating an apparent attempt to poison the drinking water used by 4.5 million people.
Authorities are investigating two open containers found in Lake Constance. They were located in water about 230 feet deep and 300 yards from shore.
Environmental officials said the water has been tested and no danger exists. However, investigators are analyzing the containers for traces of herbicides and are scouring the lake for more containers.
