AOL Co-Founder Calls it Quits
AOL co-founder Steve Case, who helped orchestrate the Internet service provider’s brash takeover of old-line media conglomerate Time Warner, said Monday he has resigned from Time Warner’s board to focus on his new startup, Revolution.
Mr. Case launched Revolution, a Washington, D.C.-based company he set up to buy stakes in businesses where he sees potential, in April with an initial investment of $500 million.
Mr. Case cited his work with Revolution as the primary reason for leaving the board. He added that he would stay actively engaged in Time Warner in his shareholder role when the company considers strategies for AOL’s future. His departure comes at a time when AOL is believed to be up for sale.
