Nigerian Plane Crashes – 114 Aboard
Authorities in Nigeria have confirmed that a missing passenger plane with 114 people aboard has crashed. All available nearby medical personnel have been asked to rush to the crash site in central Nigeria, where more than half the 114 people aboard a downed jet have apparently survived.
The news of survivors came from a spokesman in the state where the plane went down.
The plane was on its way to the capital city of Abuja when it lost contact with the control tower five minutes after departing Lagos Saturday night. State television reported the pilots issued a distress call before the plane disappeared.
