Michael Jackson flees the US for Arab state
When Neverland was found deserted after an attempt was made to serve pop-star Michael Jackson with papers for jury duty, it was revealed by his lawyers that the singer has permanently left the United States for a new home in the Arab state of Bahrain. Jackson’s lawyers have filed for a deferment of jury duty, since the famous singer who was twice acquitted of child abuse is living abroad.
Michael Jackson and his three children arrived in the oil-rich at the end of June, and have been living in a palace owned by Prince Abdulla bin Hamen Al Khalifa, the son of Bahrain’s King Hamad and friend Michael’s brother Jermaine. Jackson has taken to wearing traditional Arab robes and headgear to fit in with local culture. His financial advisors are awaiting the OK to sell Neverland, at an asking price of $40 million.
