Vaccine to help prevent cervical cancer
The pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. says it has a vaccine that can kill two sexually-transmitted viruses that are the cause of 70% of all cervical cancer. In its first large experimental study, Merck says the vaccine was 100 percent effective. The vaccine is called Gardasil and is not yet FDA-approved.
