First Same-Sex Marriage in CT
On October 1, Pablo Santiago and Edgardo Rivera were the first couple to be legally “partnered for life” in the state of Connecticut. The other two states which have allowed same-sex unions are Vermont and Massachusetts, but the state supreme courts forced them to change their laws. Connecticut had 7,386 households with same-sex couples in the 2000 Census.
