4 Seniors die from unidentified virus
Public health officials in Toronto are investigating the deaths of four people who were residents at teh Seven Oaks Home for the Aged. The four died from an unknown respiratory illness at the senior’s residence.
Dr. Barbara Yaffe, Toronto Public Health’s director of communicable disease control, said that they know from testing that it isn’t SARS or influenza, but that there are many other viruses it could be and they’re trying to identify it now.
The unidentified illness has affected 68 residents and five employees at facility.
