GOP Congressman Announces Bid for Governor
Republican Jim Gibbons, a conservative Republican, announced Wednesday he will run for Nevada Governor in 2006 with an agenda emphasizing education and government restraint. Gibbons, 60, represents the 2nd Congressional District and was re-elected to his fifth term last year.
Also in the GOP primary are Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt and state Sen. Bob Beers. The only republican officially in the race is Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus.
