London Police and Tube Firm at Loggerheads over CCTV
Is she is or is she aint? Does footage of the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes at Stockwell Tube station on 22 July exist or not? Contrary to earlier reports that CCTV footage existed showing de Menzies not behaving suspiciously or running from police, authorities are now asserting they recieved no footage from tube cameras, and that in fact the cameras—all eight of them that ought to have caught the action—were in some way malfunctioning or non-functional.
Comment: Credible or coverup? This one’s going to continue for some time folks. Expect it to be a football for different camps to kick around seeking to advance their causes on the right or the left.
