China’s change of currency value

On Thursday the Chinese government made a decision to raise the value of its currency yuan by 2.1 percent, and announced it would trade its currency at a rate of 8.11 to the US dollar. Positive comments were heard from US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, Canadian Minister of Finance Ralph Goodale, German Finance Minister Hans Eichel, French Finance Minister Thierry Breton, White House spokesman Scott McClellan and others.
